Big Maz is the epitome of what it means to be a trainer, coach, and mentor but most importantly someone who truly believes in you.
I can confidently say I would not be the athlete I am today without him, nor would I have developed the mental toughness to push past limits I once thought was impossible.
This is more than just training. You’re gaining a coach who genuinely cares, invests in your goals, and supports your aspirations every step of the way. Simply put, if you want to be the best, you have to train with the best and that’s Big Maz Fitness. I’m forever grateful.

Training with Big Maz has been a huge part of my development as a collegiate soccer player. Whenever I’m home from the University of Miami, I always make time to train with him because his sessions are both challenging and effective. His speed and agility work has helped me improve immensely and pushed me to reach a higher level. This summer, I felt confident heading into the Fall season, and a lot of that came from the quality training I was doing with Maz. Beyond the physical results, what really sets Maz apart is how much he cares about his athletes. He truly wants each and every one of us to succeed and brings out the best in all of his athletes.

Hello All. My name is Isaiah Afework and I have had the privilege of having big Maz as
my strength and conditioning Coach from the ‘24/’25 season with TCC baseball. It has
been nothing short of an amazing experience. Coach Maz showed up day in and day out
with big time energy that had a positively contagious affect on everybody that he crossed
paths with. Not only is he knowledgeable in his field, but he put effort in to help others
better themselves even with the finite resources we had at TCC. Coach Maz made my
JUCO experience a great one and would highly recommend him to any team and/or sport
organization.

Training with Big Maz took my basketball game to the next level. He pushed me physically while also helping me grow mentally, especially with confidence, discipline, and decision-making on the court. Every session was intense and purposeful, and I could see real improvement in my skills and overall performance. I’m a more complete and smarter player because of his training.

As a soccer player, training with Big Maz ahead of my college season made a huge difference in my performance. His sport specific programming was fantastic, and I could genuinely feel improvements in my speed, quickness, agility, and overall movement on the field. Every group session is a blast giving me the opportunity to meet other athletes, make new friends, and create environments where we push each other to be better. His sessions are always competitive while still being super fun, helping me improve each time. Maz always comes prepared and ready to go, and I know that a lot of my success on the field can be attributed to his programming. I can’t recommend his training enough!

Big Maz has been an incredible influence on my growth both as an athlete and as a person. I remember my first day working with him, and I don’t think I have ever been more sore in my entire life. From there, Maz continued to push me past what I thought was possible, physically and mentally. His coaching challenged me to be disciplined and intentional with everything I do. Through his training, I became a stronger, quicker, and more confident player.
I am truly grateful to have met Big Maz and to have worked with him throughout my time in Seattle while attending Seattle University. His passion and genuine care for the athletes he trains set him apart as a coach and a mentor. I will always be grateful for the role he played in my journey.
